Alcohol-Related Diseases-Aspects of Internal Medicine and Neuropsychiatry: In contrast to common beliefs of social drinkers about favourable effects of alcohol use health risks associated with regular alcohol consumption are briefly reviewed. While alcoholics tend to ignore perceived symptoms most of them suffer from serious medical consequences of their dependence. Frequently observed diseases are summarized in tables with a short description of hepatic and central nervous system disorders. ab
