Music therapy results for ICU patients

Abstract: The following investigation studied the physiological and emotional responses to taped music programs of patients in coronary and surgical Intensive Care Units (ICU). Previous studies have investigated physiological or psychological impact individually, but rarely explored the effects simultaneously. The results of this study support music therapy as a nursing intervention which supports the holistic care of the critically ill patient.
