Abstract: Discusses the close association of music and psyche and the interaction of music therapy and psychotherapy, including reminiscences of the early days of music therapy in Berlin in 1970 and the working group meetings from 1972 to 1978 to discuss psychological and psychotherapeutic aspects of music therapy. Two copperplate engravings on musical wisdom are commented on. These are taken from the work of two eminent doctors of the early 17th c. who regarded music as one of the most important remedies, and whose teachings are worthy of note.
