A categorization and synthesis of selected literature on music therapy in medicine from 1980-1989

Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to summariza, organize and synthesize the role of music therapy in medicine from 1980 to 1989. The information has been compiled according to variables such as methods, population, therapeutic targets and rationale. In addition, the role of the music as part of a medical treatment team is investigated. Lastly, identification of future emphasis and development in music therapy in medicine is presented.
