Pluralism of practice in West Germany

Abstract: This article, written before the two Germanies were united, suggests that therapeutic freedom in Germany has led to a beneficial climate for the development of complementary medicine. Modern health care ideas are based on the Romantic notion of personal freedom of expression, and the curative value of Nature.
