Vergleichsstudie betreffend die Wirksamkeit von kombinierter Ohr- und Körperakupunktur sowie Physiotherapie im Rahmen eines dreiwöchigen stationären Aufenthaltes in einem Rehabilitationszentrum

Abstract: In 68 cases of patients suffering either from a shoulder-arm syndrom or from gonarthrosis symptomps a comparative study concerning the efficiency of an acupuncture therapy and a physical therapy was carried out. It became evident that the acupuncture therapy was superior in both symptom groups and this one week as well as three weeks after the beginning of the therapy. The judgement of the therapy by the patient also showed that the acupuncture therapy was more efficient. This was supported by the judgement of the physician by means of a special pain score. The use of acupuncture as a monotherapy for chronic pains in the shoulder or knee area can thus be justified. The present work is meant to contribute to the evaluation of the importance of acupuncture for the therapy of patients suffering from shoulder-arm syndrome as well as from gonarthrosis.
