Abstract: Vaginal application of peat is an agreable, economic and easy therapy. Positive effects are such as regulation of the acid vaginal milieu, the direct antimicrobial and antiviral effect and a longterm, exact changement of the genital temperature, which increases genital vascularisation.The ingredients of peat are well resorbed through the vaginal epithelium.The genital vegetative situation is positivly changed, due to the stimulation of vegetative pelvic centres.The vaginal application has local indications: chronic inflammatory genital processes, trophic disturbances, motility of smooth muscle, disturbed reactivity of the vessels, disturbed endocrinological ovar function. It is n method for the regulation of central-regulativ disturbances. Best effects are obtained in combination with other balneologic therapy.
