Feminist scholarship: Spitting into the mouths of the gods. Special Issue: Women and the creative arts therapies

Abstract: Argues that feminist scholarship lacks authority and recognition due to a misconceived drive toward professionalism, sex bias in research, reverence for the knowledge and methods of physical science, exclusive editorial policies, and researchers' and therapists' own inability to incorporate the feminine and vulnerable into their psyches. Creative arts therapists have to make some important decisions regarding professionalism similar to those faced by feminist scholars, whether to integrate themselves within the traditional establishment of mental health professionals or to take a separatist position.
