Regulations- und Ordnungsmechanismen in der Akupunktur

Journal/Book: Erfahrungsheilkunde. 1989; 38/12: 827-830.

Abstract: Acupuncture is a regulating and modulating therapy working through specific and systematic points of the skin. Acupuncture points are a positive reality, their topography by 80 % being identical with the trigger points of modern pain therapy. In his diagnose and therapy, the acupuncturist considers both the medical evidence and the subjective complaints of the patient. The disorder, amongst other symptoms, manifests in specific points becoming sensitive an pressure. It is a fundamental axiom of acupuncture science that there are five functional, or regulating, circuits within the organism linking together a variety of organs and tissues which are related to one another by analogous functions. Functional circuits work in a way that warrants mutual interaction, harmonisation, and securing of the organs and tissues connected. Any disorders of the organism primarily manifest in functional complaints. In this phase the body seeks to restore its homeostase in order to prevent manifesting disease. From the point of view of acupuncture, sinusitis is a reactive process of the lung/large intestine functional circuit. Acupuncture will simultaneously treat sinusitis as well as the primary irritation of the functional circuit. The same specific points are suitable for treatment of either disorder.
