Abstract: Seven oral administrations of low Zincum-potencies were able to stimulate the histamine release from peritoneal mast cells of male Wistar rats. The effect of higher potencies was less. In no case the histamine release was depressed below 0-control and placebo values. Administrations of Calcium carbonicum, Sulfur and Silicea displayed a release characteristic which is rather similar to Zincum. Compared to this, administrations of Phosphorus led to effects of higher potencies. The antiallergically active disodium cromoglycate served as a control substance for the above homeopathic dilutions. A single intraportal administration of Acidum sulfuricum D6, D12 or D60 was able to influence the parameters NADPH-Cytochrome P450 reductase (NADPH-CR) and GSH concentration. The intraportal administration of Acidum phosphoricum was effective only with the D6 potency. Concentrations of GSH and activities of NADPH-CR proved to be antagonistic. Intraperitoneally administrated aqueous Zincum aceticum-potencies caused significantly different effects when the activities of zincdependent enzyms alcohol dehydrogenase, superoxid dismutase or glutamate dehydrogenase were measured. Additionally these effects were dependent on the diurnal administration time. Similarly, the activity of the microsomal NADPH-CR could be influenced.
