Abstract: The effect of the climate upon Body-functions is described by the traditional chinese medicin (TCM) in a systematic way:1. TCM describes a model of layers with the surface (spezies) and the internal region (intima) as the two polar ends.2. The surface defines the line of defense, from where an overwhelming climatic factor penetrates into the internal region.3. The functional structure of the internal region is bilt up by the five orbes ("organs").4. Each of the five classical climatic factors affects preferentially one of the five orbes.5. The internal, emotional, pathogenic factors and the climatic factors cooperate synergistically in destabilizing the orbes.
