Abstract: The trance-inducing effects of monochrome tones is presented. Three characteristic instruments provide examples of the way in which the various tones induce specific archetypal themes in the deeper layers of the unconscious. Examples from case studies illustrate the therapeutic potential of these phenomena. Particular emphasis is placed on the client-therapist relationship, a holistic approach and the transpersonal dimension.
