Abstract: "Patients with brain damage are not considerede good candidates for traditional psychotherapy. It was postulated that if C., a 41 year old brain damaged female, could be engaged in the imaging process with music, she might work through her issues, even though her lack of short-term memory would preclude verbal processing of her images. The patient did engage with the music and imagery, and appeared to work with some issues. Although it is not known if the treatment had a lasting effect, this case seems to suggest that this may be a viable approach to the psychotherapy of brain damaged patients."
