Care of the mentally handicapped, is there still music in it?

Abstract: The article represents the lecture prof. De Ruyter gave at the seminar held on the occasion of the publication of the book 'Meer met Muziek' by Wim ter Burg. De Ruyter makes a plea for the book for two reasons: remedial education literature is enriched with a practical theory, and the book appeals to the workers in care for mentally handicapped, namely for 'live' music.
