Introducing Music into a Paliative Care Setting

Abstract: Music therapy with paliative care patients is the use of music, and the therapists personal, musical, therapy and individual skills, to effect the behaviors of the dying patient and significant others, and so to effect quality of life. Music therapy can be used as a catalist in communication to assist both patients and families to discuss a variety of issues; psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and aesthetic.
