Abstract: The first part of this paper will discuss the general background of Maternal Stimulus Deprivation and will provide a brief summary of research in this area. This is followed by a case study in which music therapy is being used to try to alleviate some of the damage caused by the deprivation in a twenty year old intellectually handicapped boy. Activities include singing and instrumental playing.
