Abstract: Sometimes a therapy will progress steadily on its course, or it will run immoveably aground at some point, without the cause of this becoming apparent. But a therapy may change course at some point and produce insights in the patient, so that he too is made aware of the purpose and aim of the work. It need not be a spectacular event which brings about such a change of course. On the contrary, often it is a matter of scarcely perceptible moments, sometimes of lucky chances, that enable a trapped mind to emerge, a transference to take place, a repression to break through the barrier, projections to be withdrawn. Therapy excerpts of this kind from music therapy work on neuroses, throwing light on the turning-points alone, will be described here.
