Disturbances of thoraco-pulmonary function of reflex origin can be influenced by acupuncture; it primarily affects the movements of the thorax. The most important points are enumerated. During 1958-1972 1,421 persons with bronchial asthma had acupuncture. Subjective evaluation of the results by the patients was as follows: great improvement in 45% and satisfactory improvement in 38% of the cases; 17% of the patients were not satisfied.
