Abstract: Lecture given on March 6, 1971 at a seminar of the 'Stichting voor Muziektherapie' (Foundation for music therapy), in which a plea is made for drafting basic principles for education and practice. The author defines therapy and social work and sees music therapy as part of therapeutic social work. Theoretically founded on a development-psychological model. Therapy is reduced to learning to receive and give, meeting of needs.
